CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA9) -- On Tuesday, fire officials released new video of the aftermath of a fire that destroyed two fire engines in Capitol Heights.
The massive fire at a commercial building that contained a roofing company in the 8700 block of Ashwood Drive could be seen from all over the D.C. Metro area on Monday.
More than 100 firefighters worked together to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported, but both the roofing company and local fire departments suffered major losses.
As winds shifted, the fire spread to two fire trucks that belonged to the West Lanham Hills and Kentland Volunteer fire departments.
"In the 34 years I've been doing this we've never lost two fire engines on a building fire," Prince George's County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor said.
