Miss. Firefighter Collapses During PT at Station

A veteran Mississippi firefighter who collapsed and died at his station May 6 received a final salute from comrades earlier this week.

Philadelphia Fire Capt. Dwight Greer, 44, was stricken while playing basketball at Station 3 while on duty.

Despite efforts of fellow firefighters, he could not be revived, Fire Chief Pierce Clark said. 

An autopsy showed he suffered a heart attack.

More than 600 people paid their respects to the 21-year veteran, well-loved firefighter. Some lined the streets to show their respects.
