Maine Firefighter's Foot Caught in Aerial Ladder

A Maine firefighter suffered serious injuries to his foot after it was caught in an aerial ladder.

The Kittery firefighter underwent surgery, and his recuperating, according to The Press Herald.

His foot was wedged when the ladder was being adjusted at a house fire Monday morning.

The man’s wife recently opened a coffee shop and members of the fire department plan to help her with chores until the injured firefighter is back on his feet, Chief David O’Brien told reporters.

Another firefighter received a superficial cut on his hand.

O'Brien said the fire was caused by careless smoking.
