A firefighter has been charged with arson in connection with a fire he responded to in Freehold.
Nicholas Joyce, 19, responded with other Fair Haven firefighters to a fire at a Boy Scout shed near a church on Friday afternoon.
An investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office led to the arrest of Joyce, who is also a former Boy Scout, according to the Asbury Park Press.
Officials said he set the fire and went to the Fair Haven firehouse.
The fire was contained to the exterior of the shed.
Joyce is charged with second-degree aggravated arson and faces up to 10 years in state prison.
