A pumper is the second Shreveport fire apparatus to be involved in a rollover crash this week.
Three firefighters responded on Engine 6 for an odor of smoke call Tuesday night.
The driver of the pumper, who was not a regularly assigned driver, attempted to make room for a passing vehicle when the pumper rolled into a ditch, local television station KSLA reported.
"SPD is investigating. We do know this is a narrow road, there is no curb. If you go off the road here, you're in a ditch," Assistant Fire Chief Fred Sanders told the television station. "That's what happened with Engine 6."
The vehicle that was attempting to pass the fire apparatus drove away from the scene.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries, fire officials said.
On Monday, two firefighters were injured when the ladder truck they were responding to an EMS call on rolled over on Kings Highway.
