KENNEBUNK -- State Police say a tractor-trailer loaded with Coca-Cola products was destroyed early Monday morning after it caught fire on the Maine Turnpike in Kennebunk.
The truck was headed north to Bangor when the driver discovered the fire and pulled the truck to the breakdown lane at mile 26, just after 1 a.m., said State Police Spokesman Stephen McCausland.
All three northbound lanes were closed for a time as the fire was put out by firefighters, McCausland said.
The driver, 46 year old Corey White, from Virginia, was not injured, he said.
The 2017 Kenworth truck is owned by Bale Brothers from Fayetteville, North Carolina. The trailer was owned by Falcon Transportation from Presque Isle.
The load of soda was also destroyed, McCausland said.
