The Alexandria, Va., Fire Department has taken delivery of a MetalCraft Marine FireStorm 50 fire boat. The 50-foot vessel is powered by two CAT C-18 engines producing 915 hp and the jets are powered by two Rolls Royce FF 37 engines.
It's equipped with two Hale 3,500-gpm pumps, four monitors, 100 gallons of firefighting foam, a patient care berth, heated front windshield, breathing air and patient oxygen, electric tinting overhead windows, Vector joystick controls, an aft helm, Furuno electronics and FLIR cameras.
