HURST Jaws of Life, Inc., an industry leading global manufacturer of rescue tools, has added Chip Johnson to its sales team as the mid-Atlantic regional sales manager and HURST national law enforcement specialist. Johnson brings with him 22 years of sales and industry experience spanning EMS, fire rescue and law enforcement.
“Chip has a very unique skillset, something we’ve been looking for to elevate our StrongArm™ sales opportunity,” said Mike Canon, director of rescue sales for HURST Jaws of Life, Inc. “He has a remarkable background in fire rescue and law enforcement and a passion for those in public service. We’re excited to see what he can bring to our team.”
Johnson comes to Hurst from MILO Range, a leading provider of interactive simulation training products for the law enforcement and military markets. His public service experience runs the gamut: He’s served as a truck captain in a volunteer fire department in New York; a federal firefighter (for the U.S. Coast Guard) for Governor’s Island in Manhattan; a police officer in Hillsborough, N.C.; and a lieutenant for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs police, responsible for the training division.
During his service, Johnson received the Secretary’s Hero Award from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for his work after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the Governor’s Award for Heroism and Bravery from North Carolina Governor Hunt in 1999.
