A Marion County Fire Rescue crew worked to free a driver and a passenger who were trapped in a car after a tractor-trailer flipped on top of it Thursday night, according to a news release.
The crash reportedly happened at 7:20 p.m. on south I-75 near mile marker 366, according to MCFR.
Crews arrived just after 7:30 p.m. and found a semi carrying produce on its side with a white vehicle underneath it, leaving the driver and passenger inside.
Special operations crews first cut the roof of the vehicle, allowing the victims to breathe, MCFR said. Then, first responders extracted the man and woman.
Both victims were hospitalized.
Three other victims involved in the incident were taken to the hospital as well, MCFR said.
