5.11 Tactical built its reputation on providing uniforms for first responders. A commitment to providing proprietary fabrics that deliver in performance and comfort. This Spring, they revamped their line of station wear and have introduced a women’s specific fit, not just a downsized men’s cut. Let’s take a closer look at the new Company Line.
Certified to NFPA Standards
The National Fire Protection Association is a non-profit organization with a focus on eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire and electrical hazards. Their certification hopes to build a host of standards that can be used across all agencies. Besides providing training, public education and research, they create standards to ensure products meet the demands of our first responders. The new station wear from 5.11 has been certified to the NFPA 1975, 2014 Edition and features Firefly thread which is heat resistant. The innovative thread and durable fabric all equal to a station wear line that is clean looking while being functional.
Women’s Fit
Instead of down-sizing a men’s uniform, 5.11 worked with female EMS and fire personnel to develop this specific fit. The same styling, durable cotton twill, melt resistant buttons, badge and epaulette kits are found in these women’s styles. The female specific fit is available from size XS to XXL sizes for shirts and sizes 2 – 20 in pants.
Head to toe
Short sleeve, long sleeve, cargo pockets, no cargo pockets, it’s all about options with the new Company Line. With a wide selection of sizes to choose from, you can have the whole battalion outfitted. 5.11 even offers the slip-on Company Boot as well as side zip options with a wealth of performance features for those long shifts.
Company Shirt
For increased comfort 5.11 went with 100% cotton twill with a hand weight of 5.6 oz. The regular fit is available in 8 sizes from Small to 5XL for men. Also available in two lengths, Regular and Tall and 3 colors to accommodate station requirements.
Company Pant
The 100% 7.8oz cotton twill is up to the challenge. Durable and finished with a Tough Cotton treatment to add to the strength and performance of the pant. The non-cargo version feature 4 pockets and clean lines while the cargo version features 6 pockets that are generously sized for small pieces of gear or other daily items. Self-adjusted waistband with gripper tape is available in every pair to maintain a professional look in all scenarios. A variety of men’s and women’s sizes are available. The pants can be altered by 5.11 or an authorized service representative.
