Two Houston firefighters were injured battling a four-alarm fire that brought down part of a residential building Monday.
The fire erupted at around 2 p.m. at an apartment complex in southwest Houston, KHOU-TV reports. The flames partially collapsed the building, leading to a mayday call that was quickly disregarded, according to the Houston Fire Department.
Two firefighters were injured during the call. They were taken to the hospital in stable condition, the department stated.
No other injuries were reported. Crews had the flames under control by about 5 p.m., according to the department. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
