HAAS Alert, the leader in connected lights and sirens, provider of traffic and safety preemption applications and services for fire, ems and police, will be unveiling a new product alongside current offerings this year during FDIC International 2017.
Visit booth #3745 located inside the Indiana Convention Center during exhibit hall hours to get a closer look at the HA-3, a simple beacon that connects directly to the vehicle light bar switch.
When apparatuses are on the move or at a scene, the HA-3 turns a code 3 into “digital lights and sirens.” HAAS Alert warns motorists when emergency vehicles are approaching, reducing response times and making crews’ jobs safer.
“Driver distraction and the proliferation of connected cars poses many challenges for first responders, but there is opportunity as well,” said Noah Levens, COO of HAAS Alert. “HAAS Alert provides apparatuses the ability to become connected vehicles on the road, delivering notifications directly to other vehicles and to the mapping and navigation apps people are already using.”
The service can also be used to reroute traffic and send data to other smart city services which can be used to power applications such as as connected traffic signals. Unlike most preemption solutions, the HA-3 is extremely low-cost (under $100), takes about five minutes to install and operates 100% passively to departments using iOS and Android mobile devices. Organizations not utilizing iOS or Android devices will be able to place pre-orders of the HA-4, a similar beacon that operates entirely on its own.
A full working demo will be on hand at FDIC, along with a showcase of new powerful dashboard and mobile tools available to fire departments of all sizes. The company will have devices available for purchase at the show, offering a discounted rate for show attendees.
