A man driving an ATV was killed after he collided head-on with an Atlanta fire apparatus while trying to pass another vehicle on Christmas.
The accident happened before 6 p.m. as crews were responding to a fire emergency, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Firefighters tried to resuscitate the driver, who wasn't wearing a helmet, but he was pronounced dead a the scene.
“The four wheeler came from around a car, and that's when the collision happened,” Battalion Chief Dwyane Johnson told WSB-TV.
“No physical harm to any of our firefighters,” he added. “Emotionally, we're going to bring a team out and make that assessment.”
