Apparatus Badly Damaged in NJ Station Fire

The damage appeared extensive after an apparatus erupted in flames in the bay of the Dunellen Fire Department's headquarters on Tuesday.

A central New Jersey fire station was damaged in a three-alarm fire after a piece of apparatus erupted in flames in the bay.

According to the Daily Voice, the rig caught fire at the Dunellen Fire Department's headquarters at about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The flames were quickly knocked down inside the bay, but judging from photos taken at the scene, the damage to what appears to be an aerial platform was severe.

There were no injuries reported.

Information was unavailable on the extent of the damage to any other department vehicles or the facility.

Dunellen is located in Middlesex County about 30 miles west of New York City.
