Mar. 16—HARTFORD — A 24-year-old woman was arrested on Friday for her involvement in a January crash that injured four firefighters, according to police.

Hartford police Lt. Aaron Boisvert said the Main Street crash involved a fire truck on Jan. 2 and the woman, Selina Gomez, is facing seven different charges, including a DUI charge.

The crash occurred when the motorist struck a fire truck while it was backing up into its firehouse, police said shortly after the crash.

District Chief Mario Oquendo Jr. said all five involved in the crash were transported to the hospital with injuries. He said the four firefighters involved were discharged from the hospital by the following morning.

Boisvert said Gomez was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, operating a motor vehicle under suspension, interfering with an officer/resisting, failure to renew registration, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance, improper use of a marker plate and traveling unreasonably fast.

Gomez turned herself into custody on Friday after a warrant was issued for her arrest, Boisvert said.

Court records show Gomez was released on a $75,000 bond and will appear in state Superior Court in Hartford on April 11.
