Four injured firefighters in Upstate New York required extrication after their apparatus overturned while on its way to a fire call.
WGRZ News reports that the Buffalo Fire Department's Engine 34 was responding to a fire Friday when another driver attempted to turn in front of the rig. The apparatus swerved to avoid hitting the vehicle and overturned, injuring the crew of four and trapping them inside the cab.
The firefighters were removed by Rescue 1 and transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
The incident was the second crash involving a piece of the Buffalo FD's fleet this week after a ladder truck collided with a school bus Tuesday while on a call.
