Pikesville, MD, Fire Vehicle Strikes Light Pole

A Pikesville firefighter was injured when the emergency vehicle was trying to avoid a collision with a transit bus.

A firefighter was hurt when a fire vehicle struck a light pole in Baltimore County Sunday morning.

The vehicle, from Pikesville Volunteer Fire Department, tried to avoid crashing into a mass transit bus when they struck the light pole, Baltimore County police told WMAR.com.

The accident happened on Old Court Road while the emergency vehicle was responding to a call with its lights and sirens activated.

Police said the fire vehicle did not hit the bus, and no other injuries were reported.

The firefighter was treated at the scene.
