HME Ahrens Fox Wins Bid for Seven Calif. OES Hazardous Material Response Vehicles
HME, Inc has announced that it has been awarded a contract, through competitive bid, for the manufacture and equipping of seven Calif. OES Hazardous Material Response Vehicles.
The HME HazMat apparatus specified by Calif. OES are Type ll, Rescue/HazMat Emergency Response Vehicles designed for emergency response support services at emergency scenes such as railway spills, chemical spills, and other hazardous materials incidents. These Rescue/HazMat apparatus comply with Calif. OES specifications, and in accordance with applicable NFPA 1901 guidelines.
HME will deliver turnkey Rescue HazMat apparatus, each fully equipped for immediate deployment, upon delivery, to meet the challenge of a wide range of rescue and HazMat operations in the state of California.
The award of this contract continues a long-term relationship between HME and Calif. OES. HME began working with Calif. OES in 1992, developing a custom chassis for Type I fire apparatus for Calif. OES Interface operations. Today HME builds Type I and Type III fire apparatus for Calif. OES as well as Calif. Fire.

Delivery of HME HazMat Apparatus for service with Calif. OES will begin late summer 2016.
