CHICAGO -- Pierce reintroduced its Hawk Extreme Wildland Tanker at the Fire Rescue international trade show in Chicago.
The all-wheel drive, all-terrain vehicle has three drive axles with interaxle differential lock, an Oshkosh Model 3000 transfer case, a Cummins 450 hp engine, Allison 4500 EVS transmission and Oshkosh TAK-4 suspension.
The three-person cab is constructed of welded aluminum extrusion with adhesively bonded, corrosion-resistant skins.
For firefighting, the apparatus has a hydraulically-driven Darley HH-500, 500-gpm single-stage pump, a 2,500-gallon polypropylene, wet-side tank with a 10-inch rear dump valve. It's also equpped with a booster hose reel, a front bumper turret and ground sweep nozzles.
