Five Injured in VA Ambulance Rollover Accident

A privately owned ambulance and a car were in an entrapment crash that sent five people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Virginia Beach EMS said.

Five people were injured in an accident involving a Virginia ambulance and a car Monday.

A call concerning the Virginia Beach incident came in to 9-1-1 dispatchers at around 9:30 a.m., WVEC-TV reports. A privately owned ambulance and a car had collided at an intersection near Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, a collision that left the ambulance on its side.

According to Virginia Beach EMS, the vehicles were involved in an entrapment crash, but no details were given about how many people needed to be extricated. Five people were taken to the hospital, and their injuries weren't considered life-threatening.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
