Patient Killed in AL Ambulance Crash

Officials say the 74-year-old woman being transported by Regional Paramedical Services was killed when the ambulance struck a tractor-trailer.

A woman who was being transported in an ambulance was killed in a multiple vehicle crash in Talladega County Tuesday night.

The Regional Paramedical Services ambulance was initially involved in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer, officials told ABC3340.com.

The impact of the collision sent the ambulance crashing into two other SUVs before it came to a stop on Alabama 21 near Sylacauga.

Dana M. Foster, 74, suffered fatal injuries, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency told the television station.

Officials said the two ambulance crew members, and the two drivers of the SUV were taken to the hospital.
