Two Johns Creek firefighters suffered minor injuries in a scuffle while restraining a man who is accused of trying to carjack two vehicles following a three-vehicle crash.

Georgia firefighters stopped a man accused of trying to carjack two vehicles after crashing his own car.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. in Johns Creek, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. A man caused a three-vehicle crash and then ran from his car.

According to police, the man then shattered a woman's car window and tried to carjack the vehicle. When that was unsuccessful, the man attempted to carjack another vehicle near a Johns Creek Fire Department station.

“Firemen witnessed the second attempted carjacking and went over to restrain him and hold him down,” Police Capt. Todd Hood told the Journal-Constitution.

The firefighters were able to restrain the man until police were able to arrive and arrest him. Two firefighters, as well as the man, suffered minor injuries in the scuffle that ensued.

The man, who was booked into Fulton County Jail after he was released from the hospital, faces multiple charges stemming from the accident and attempted carjackings, according to the Journal-Constitution.
