TX City Accepting Applications for New Fire Chief

Mar. 25—For the first time in more than two decades, city of Orange is seeking a new fire chief.
The new chief will replace David Frenzel, who is retiring after serving the department for more than 50 years.
The city is now accepting applications for the position, which serves as the administrative head of the city's fire department. Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume no later than 5 p.m. April 22 to be considered in the first review of applicants.
"This will be the first time in 25 years that the position of Fire Chief is open to be filled," the city said in a news release.
The new fire chief will provide the overall direction to firefighters, animal control and administrative employees. The city said the Orange Fire Department has 37 firefighters and administrative staff, three fire stations and three animal control employees.
This position supervises the planning, operation and administration of firefighting, emergency medical services, fire inspections, loss prevention, life safety and fire service activities in the city, the release said.
