Firehouse Subs, the hot sandwich chain that was started by former Jacksonville firefighters, is offering frontline workers free subs in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.
The deal is valid at all of the restaurant’s 177 locations in Florida from Oct. 11-18. Frontline workers — first responders, firefighters, police, EMS, healthcare workers and disaster relief volunteers with valid ID — can visit a Firehouse Subs in the Sunshine State to receive a free medium sub, chips and a drink.
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which was created in response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, is donating $20,000 to the American Red Cross to aid in the organization’s humanitarian work and disaster relief efforts. To date, the organization has donated more than $89 million in equipment to first responders, including $3.5 million in disaster relief.
