Authorities are asking the public to provide them with information in connection with a fire that appears to have been intentionally set at a Tesla charging station in Littleton on Monday.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. at the Tesla charging station at The Point Shopping Center at 830 Constitution Ave., the Littleton Police Department said.

Several Tesla charging stations were “engulfed in flames and heavy, dark smoke,” police said.

The Littleton Electric Light & Water Department was asked to arrive at the scene and cut off the power, police said.

While first responders were waiting for the town’s electric department to arrive, another charging station caught on fire, police said.

Seven charging stations in all saw “heavy fire-related damage.” Nobody was hurt.

Once the fires were put out and the electric supply to the chargers was cut off, officers launched a preliminary investigation, police said.

Authorities have determined that the fire appears to have been intentionally set.

“Anyone who believes they have information about the incident or observed anything suspicious is asked to call the Arson Watch Reward Program Hotline at 1-800-682-9229,” police said.

The Arson Watch Reward Program offers rewards of up to $5,000 for information that solves, prevents or detects arson crimes, police said.
