Six People Hurt in Explosion/Fire in AZ Apartment Complex

Six people were hurt in a huge explosion and fire in a Payson four-unit apartment.

According to a report in by TV3 KPHO/KTVK, nine people were home when and an apparent explosion hit causing a large fire that destroyed the building.

The television station reported that five of the six people hurt were taken to the local hospital for treatment and a woman was airlifted for treatment of more serious injuries.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud, window rattling explosion before feeling heat that radiated across a parking lot, according to the television station.

Several local fire departments responded as did many ambulances, according to the television.

The cause of the explosion and fire is under investigation and the American Red Cross was summoned to the scene to help those affected by the incident.
