The mother of four young children who died in a house fire in Pratt earlier this week has died, a Wichita hospital official said.
Charee Wheatley, 22, died Saturday at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, where she had been receiving care since the fire broke out Thursday morning.'
Her four young children — Reece, 6; Timmy, 2; River 1; and 3-month-old Harley — died after being trapped in the basement with their mother.
Wheatley had been unresponsive since being rescued from the fire, relatives have said.
“Charee you were my rock and an amazing mother and you and your babies didn't deserve this,” Kristina Bates, Wheatley’s sister, posted on Facebook Saturday. “Theres such an empty void that will never be filled...your with your babies now who meant everything to you. Watch over us reeree. Not a day will go by that i wont miss u.”
