A huge swarm of bees homed in a group of people passing by on an Arizona sidewalk and then attacked, leaving one man dead and another two injured.
The incident unfolded Thursday afternoon in Marana, a small suburb in Tuscon, when the victims passed by an open hive estimated to be around 100 pounds. It was located inside a tree in the backyard of a nearby home, according to the Northwest Fire District.
In all, six people were stung hundreds of times, including two who were rushed to the hospital. A third man did not survive the brutal bee attack, Marana police said in a press release.
Neither the names of the injured nor the deceased have been released.
