Three Ohio high school students were among the six killed in a fiery multi-vehicle collision on I-70 Tuesday morning.
The other victims included two chaperones and a teacher from Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools in Zoarville, The Columbus Dispatch reported.
The crash in Licking County involved a charter bus, a tractor-trailer, another commercial vehicle, and two passenger vehicles. At least three caught fire, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.
A mass casualty incident was declared by emergency responders which alerted hospitals to expect multiple patients. Fifteen students and the bus driver were transported for treatment.
Authorities have not discussed the severity of their injuries.
Ambulances, medic units and fire departments from multiple departments in Licking and Franklin counties responded to the crash scene shorly after 9 a.m.
Three students on the bus were killed: John W. Mosely, 18, and Katelyn N. Owens, 15, both of Mineral City; and Jeffery D. Worrell, 18, of Bolivar.
The other three killed were Dave Kennat, 56, and Kristy Gaynor, 39, who were chaperones, as well as Shannon Wigfield, 45, a teacher. They were in a vehicle following the bus.
