The Forest View Firefighter's and all members of the Forest View Fire Department are requesting your support.

On January 30, 2010, the Forest View Firefighters Association will be hosting a(n) Fundraiser to raise much-needed funds for one of our very own Paid on Call Firefighters, Dan Kroc. Dan was diagnosed this past May 2009 with Stage Brain Cancer (Glioblastoma Multiforme).

This event will be held at the Part District of La Grange located at 536 East Ave La Grange, IL from 6pm till 11pm. Tickets will run a minimal donation of  $20 each and will include your food/drink and entertainment.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), also known as grade 4 astrocytoma, is the most common and aggressive type of primary brain tumor, accounting for 52% of all primary brain tumor cases and 20% of all intracranial tumors. Despite being the most prevalent form of primary brain tumor, GBMs occur in only 2-3 cases per 100,000 people in Europe and North America.

Dan is the sole provider for his family and since May of 2009 Dan has not been able to work. Since then Dan's wife Sara had to take on a part-time job to help pay bills and support their two children.

At our fundraiser, attendees will be able to talk to Dan's family, share stories and participate in several raffles (to raise money) listen to music and partake in provided refreshments. We are hoping that if you are not able to attend you would be still willing to make a monetary donation or a prize for one of our raffles (tickets, gift cards or merchandise). We will be inviting people from the local business community and families from the local area as well as firefighters from the surrounding communities. If you could make this donation (item for raffle), we will acknowledge your support of our fundraiser and we would be most grateful for your support.

Your prompt attention to this time sensitive matter would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact Firefighter Lester Antos Jr. at 708-749-4054 or email us at [email protected]

Thank you very much for your consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

Lester Antos Jr.,
Forest View Firefighter Association President
