PHOENIX --

Phoenix fire fighters are battling a huge fire at a recycling plant near Buckeye Road and 35th Avenue.

Phoenix fire Capt.Tony Mure said the two-alarm fire is burning at the Friedman Recycling plant located at 3640 West Lincoln. Mure said more than 80 fire fighters are at the scene.

Mure said the winds are blowing the fire to the east and making it difficult for fire fighters to to get an upper hand on the flames.

The recycling plant yard is packed with bundles of compact paper material that make for good fuel for the fire, said Mure.

Mure said there are rail road tracks north of the fire scene that make access to the burning material difficult. The rail road traffic is stopped while emergency units work the fire, said Mure.

There are no reported injuries, said Mure.
