DENVER --
Firefighters are working a wildfire burning in the Roosevelt National Forest, about 15 miles west of Fort Collins, officials said Monday.
The fire was spotted along Buckhorn Road, or County Road 44H. Firefighters estimate the fire is about 40 acres. People in Fort Collins could see the smoke Monday afternoon.
More than 20 firefighters responded to the fire, along with a helicopter, Monday. Another 40 firefighters are due on Tuesday.
Personnel from the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Larimer County Emergency Services, Colorado State Forest Service, and Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department are fighting the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
No structures are threatened.
