HONOLULU --

Honolulu firefighters extinguished a fire in an electric panel onboard an Atlantis Adventures submarine on Monday morning.

Employees discovered the fire when they arrived at the headquarters at Pier 40 at about 6 a.m., fire officials said. The company is located across Waiakamilo Road.

Workers tried to put out the fire.

The Honolulu Fire Department dispatched HAZMAT and rescue units to the location.

Firefighters used thermal detection camera to find the fire in an electrical panel, officials said. They used the sub's halon fire suppression system that choked off the fire's supply of oxygen.

There was some smoke that rose from the scene.

No one was injured, but one worker complained about an irritated throat. That employee refused treatment, officials said.
