NEW ORLEANS --

New Orleans firefighters battled a four-alarm fire downtown early Thursday morning.

It started around 4:30 a.m. at the old Carpet World store on Canal Street.

Firefighters say it may have been started by someone trying to keep warm inside the building, which has been empty since Hurricane Katrina.

No one was hurt.
