HOUSTON --

A disabled woman died when her southeast Houston home caught fire on Tuesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston firefighters said the fire broke out at the woman's home on Ahrens Street near Vinett Avenue at about 5:15 p.m.

A neighbor tried to rescue the wheelchair-bound woman who used oxygen, but the flames were too intense.

Neighbors said they heard explosions, which were likely oxygen tanks.

The woman, whose name was not released, lived alone.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
