Officials said four firefighters were injured at the scene of a house fire in south Charlotte. One firefighter fell from a second floor and dropped to the next floor. Two other firefighters have burns, but they are non life-threatening injuries. A fourth firefighter was hurt after the fire was put out. All were treated at hospitals and released.
The Charlotte Fire Department responded to a two alarm house fire Monday afternoon near 6600 Elfreda Road, near the 6400 block of Providence Road.
Firefighters attacked the fire with three hose lines.
Fire officials said two dogs died inside the house.
The fire displaced a family of four, according to the Red Cross.
The family planned to spend the night with relatives.
