Four people are believed to be dead after flames ripped through a New Hampshire home early Wednesday morning.
Fire crews were called to the Plainfield, N.H., log cabin on Chellis Road at about 1:30 a.m. All that's left standing of the home is the chimney.
"There was nothing to get inside of," Chief David Best said. "Basically, it was on the ground before the first engine got there."
A family of four, including two teenagers, lived at the home. Investigators have not released the names of the victims, but the New Hampshire Union Leader said the home was occupied by Lee and Michele Putnam and their two sons.
Three bodies have been recovered from the debris. Crews are still looking for the other victim believed to have been in the fire.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire, but believe the blaze started in the chimney.
"We're going to be checking to see if there were working smoke detectors, wood stoves, if there were any candles. Things like that," Deputy State Fire Marshal John Raymond said. "We'll try to rule out all the causes."
