Aug. 21, 2006
The cause remains under investigation.

The Fire Marshal was investigating a fire that consumed a Masonic lodge off US 17-92 and Triplet Lake Drive in Seminole County Monday morning.

Dramatic home video shows how just how large the flames were before firefighters arrived. Firefighters said the blaze destroyed the lodge, which was nearly 40 years old.

Masonic members will need to find a new meeting place.

The dispatcher, I guess it was, called me this morning about 3:00am and said Ive got news for you, your lodge is on fire, said Frank Ellis, a lodge member.

No one was in the building, and members said there were no scheduled activities Sunday. Firefighters think the fire could have started in the kitchen.

The lodge was built by members in 1963. Members of the lodge said they are unsure if they will rebuild or not.
