The building should be OK.

DAYTON, Ohio --

Authorities said a recycling warehouse burned throughout the night, causing smoke to cover portions of east Dayton.

The fire happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday night at the Rumpke Recycling Warehouse located in the 1900 block of East Monument Street.

Officials said 50 firefighters worked to help contain the flames. They said the building should be structurally sound since mostly recyclables were burned.

At this time, it is not known what started the fire.

Officials with Rumpke said that there were no employees inside the building at the time of the fire. According to a press release, Rumpke said routes will not be affected by the fire and that service is on schedule.

"We are very grateful for the Dayton Fire Departments's quick and professional response," said Larry David, Rumpke Director of Safety. He said, "We will continue to work with fire investigators and appreciate their hard work."
