MANCHESTER, N.H. --
A woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning when her car collided with a fire truck that was responding to a call.
Police said that a ladder truck from Station 7 was responding to an alarm on Zachary Road just before 7 a.m. when it collided with a car at the intersection of Somerville and Porter streets.
The car's driver, Jessica Cahoon, 22, was seriously injured and taken to Elliot Hospital. She was listed in serious but stable condition. A 3-year-old child in the car was uninjured, and no firefighters were injured.
"What we've been able to determine is that it's a pretty serious crash," Sgt. Peter Bartlett said. "(It) is sort of in the investigative stage as to how serious the injuries are, and other than that, everything is sort of preliminary."
The intersection was closed for a few hours but was opened later.
