One Killed in Shooting Outside Los Angeles Fire Station

Investigators said they detained two people they said tried to flee from the scene.

LOS ANGELES --

One person was killed and another was listed in critical condition Wednesday after being shot outside a Los Angeles County fire station in Florence.

Two other people suffered minor wounds in the shooting, which happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. outside County Fire Station 16.

The fire station is located on East 81st Street near Compton Avenue.

Investigators said they detained two people they said tried to flee from the scene.
