A historic convent was completely destroyed by a three-alarm fire Sunday night.
The former house of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Gentilly caught on fire.
Helicopters dropped water on the fire as New Orleans fire crews were hampered by low water pressure in the hydrants.
The convent was flooded for several days by Hurricane Katrina, and witnesses said no one was living there at the time of the fire.
