Tire Blaze Spreads to Homes in California

Crews responded to a fire Wednesday evening that started at a tire storage facility in El Sereno.

The fire burned at 2001 North Marianna Ave. At least one home burned.

Authorities said a fire that started outside the building spread to inside the storage structure. The blaze, fanned by strong winds, then spread to nearby homes.

No injuries were reported.

About 80 firefighters responded. Ground crews and at least one water-dropping helicopter were at the site.

El Sereno is located about 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
