A man was hospitalized with broken bones late Monday night after falling down a 50-foot well.
Johnson County Sheriff's deputies said the 45-year-old man from Eudora was trespassing inside an abandoned pump building at the Sunflower Ammunitions Plant.
The victim was with a friend who called for help from his cell phone.
Firefighters pulled the man to safety. Authorities said the man suffered broken bones in his back, one leg, and both ankles.
The men said they were fishing in the Kaw River and then decided to explore the old pump house. But authorities said that they did not find any fishing equipment.
