Two people were killed in an apartment fire early Saturday morning near Boston's Kenmore Square.
The fire started at 21 Aberdeen Street shortly after 5 a.m.
Boston fire officials said an NSTAR worker called police after he spotted smoke inside the rear third-floor apartment. The utility employee told Boston fire that power was shut off to the building at the time of the blaze. The worker was on scene to replace a section of cable.
Boston fire officials said some tenants are Boston University students.
The names of the victims, a man and woman, had not been released as of Saturday morning. A third man was transported to a hospital for serious injuries.
