Goldfeder: WTC Illness Highlighted Tonight

Jan. 23, 2007
The son of a 9/11 responder, a man in grave need of a lung transplant, will push the issue of medical care.

Tonight, when President Bush faces the nation in his State of the Union address, the son of a 9/11 responder, a man in grave need of a lung transplant, will be there.

He's heading to DC to raise hell about his Dad's illness, which is a direct result of that toxic 9/11 WTC air. His Dad, like THOUSANDS of other Fire, EMS and Police responders have been issued potential DEATH SENTENCES by the murderers from 9/11. It's no secret that the list of the numbers of those killed on 9/11/01 will sadly be growing as the next months and years go by. All murdered in the LINE OF DUTY.

Want FACTS? An estimated 10,000 FDNY personnel and an estimated 30,000 other area police, EMS, dedicated site workers, clean up crews and volunteers were exposed to the toxins -- over 40,000 more potential victims -- and funerals.

Ceasar Borja Jr, (whose Dad is very gravely ill) who is a 21-year-old student, will be wearing his Dad's NYPD coat and other items to represent his Dad and all the other surviving heroes of 9/11 needing help.

Borja Sr. is a retired member of NYPD who was operating at the WTC on September 11. He is now in an intensive care unit awaiting a lung transplant due to pulmonary fibrosis which the doctors believe he got from working at Ground Zero, after the attack.

Borja Jr. wants the President to provide ALL the funding needed to treat the needs of ALL 9/11 responders and workers. Boria Jr won't be alone tonight in showing his love for his Dad -- other family and members of the Police, EMS and FDNY with related diseases will also be there.

Borja Jr. says he is also raising awareness about the need for organ donors. Doctors say his Dad and other 1st responders with lung diseases will not survive without transplants.

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS LOST THEIR LIFE AFTER WORKING AT THE SITE? The NY State Dept. of Health (NYSDOH) along with NIOSH is studying deaths among any person who worked at the World Trade Center (WTC) disaster site between September 11, 2001 and June 30, 2002.

The WTC Responders Fatality Investigation program is collecting information on any fatality to a WTC responder or volunteer that has occurred since September 12, 2001. The info is critical for medical treatment of individuals who are currently experiencing, or may in the future experience, health effects associated with WTC exposures.

Everyday more Americans (and in particular FIRE, EMS and POLICE members) are getting sicker due to them being victims of the 9/11 attacks. Those murdered ON 9/11 and now being followed by those dying (murdered) DUE to 9/11 -- will continue to follow now in the months and years following. While our nation's health care "system" in general is a disaster in itself, there is even a bigger emergency now, that must be dealt with.

A favorite saying of mine is that if a FD can't handle a house fire, how in the hell will they be able to handle something much bigger?

In this case, if our nation and the leaders of our nation can't help those still impacted -- and many with DEATH SENTENCES, due to 9/11, how in the hell will we EVER be able to handle the rest of the health care system issues?

Actually, forget that. If we and our elected officials can't or won't do EVERYTHING NEEDED to help those losing their lives after serving at the site, what does that say?

It speaks volumes.

Take Care...and ASK YOUR member of Congress / Senate what THEY plan to do to MINIMIZE, and possibly reverse the 9/11 DEATH SENTENCES. Just pick up the phone, send an e-mail or whatever. But ASK. Picture yourself as Mr. Borja -- what would you want us to do?
