OCEAN CITY, Wash. (AP) -- Two children were killed and a woman was badly burned after an accidental fire started in a trailer they were using as a bedroom.

Brandi Foutch, 27, was in serious condition Thursday in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, said Susan Gregg-Hanson, a hospital spokeswoman. Her son and niece both died in the fire.

The two children killed were identified as Foutch's son, Alex Jardine, 21 months, and a niece, Elizabeth C. Jardine, 17 months, Grays Harbor County Coroner Dan Burns said.

Cause of death was not available.

The fire began late Wednesday in a travel trailer parked next to a garage just off State Route 109, south of Ocean City. The fire department received a call around 11:53 p.m., and when crews arrived the trailer was fully engulfed.

Investigators on Thursday determined the fire was an accident, perhaps electrical, Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott said. The exact cause was not yet known.
