KINGSLEY, Iowa (AP) -- A teenager was arrested after he drove an emergency services truck into his home, authorities said.
The 16-year-old boy, whose name wasn't released, was charged with first-degree criminal mischief and drunken driving, said officials with the Plymouth County sheriff's office.
Kingsley police responded to a report of an intoxicated juvenile on a county road, south of Kingsley.
When an officer arrived, two juveniles ran into a cornfield, officials said.
Sheriff's deputies from Plymouth and Woodbury counties responded and a medical helicopter from Mercy Medical Center, in Sioux City, helped in the search.
Deputies saw the emergency services truck leaving the area and it was determined an unauthorized person was driving, officials said.
The helicopter tracked the truck as it drove into Kingsley, where the teen drove it into the driveway of his home. The truck ran into the front of the house, ending up in the kitchen, officials said.
The teen fled but was caught nearby. He was taken to juvenile detention in Cherokee.
