DOVER, N.H. (AP) -- Dover's Fire and Rescue Service is warning citizens to be wary of an organization claiming to solicit donations on its behalf.

Officials recently became aware of a group - the FireFighter's Charitable Association - that has been asking area residents for donations. Dover Fire and Rescue, the Dover Professional Fire Officer's Association and the Dover Professional Fire Fighter's Association have no affiliation with the FireFighter's Charitable Association.

After getting in touch with the Firefighter's Charitable Association, Dover officials were told that 85 percent of donations are used for the foundation's administrative costs. There is also no guarantee that donated monies are sent back to New Hampshire groups.
