Fort Edward, NY Fire Kills Four Children

FORT EDWARD, NY --An early morning fire in Washington County has claimed the lives of four children. Authorities confirm that the kids died when the fire broke out at their home at 538 Lower Allen Street in the town of Fort Edward.

Washington County Sheriff Roger Leclaire says the mother -- Leslie Ingraham -- called for help when the fire started shortly after 4:30 a.m.

Several local fire companies were soon at the scene battling the blaze, but the children -- ages seven, eight, nine and twelve -- could not be saved.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
